March on Strip urges Trump to negotiate with hotel workers - Las Vegas Sun News

The Culinary Union is organizing a march down the Las Vegas Strip to urge Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump to negotiate a contract with workers at his hotel. Organizers said they expected more than a thousand people to participate in the demonstration Thursday evening. The National Labor Relations Board in March certified the votes from a December election that showed a majority of workers at the hotel were in favor of representation by the Culinary Union. Hotel owners asked for a review challenging that decision, but the certification stands unless the board decides to reconsider. UNLV labor law professor Ruben Garcia said an appeals court has the power to enforce the board's rulings, but it could take years before the case ends up there. Workers want negotiations to start now.
